ALVARADO COMMITS TO WESTERN OKLAHOMA STATE

ATHENS, TEXAS – Luce Prospect Michael Alvarado has accepted a scholarship to play baseball at Western Oklahoma State University. Alvarado currently plays right field for Athens High School in Texas, which is about 3 hours southeast of Dallas.

Alvarado says he’s worked to prepare himself for college baseball for as long as he can remember. He signed with LPG in August 2017 as a junior and, despite being two hours away from the LPG offices in McKinney, TX, frequently traveled to trainings in the DFW area.

“The travel was all worth it, and it was always something I looked forward to,” Alvarado said. He added that after training with LPG he could see “major improvement.” Further, Alvarado said that he learned valuable lessons from LPG CEO, Jake Luce. “Michael’s work ethic has been off the charts since Day 1,” Luce said. “He trusted in the process, our team at LPG, and was ultimately rewarded with a college baseball scholarship. We couldn’t be happier for him.”

Jared McClain, a member of the LPG Class of 2018, has accepted a full-ride scholarship to attend Grayson College beginning this fall.

McClain signed with LPG on September 12th, 2015. One year, 9 months, and seven days later, McClain has officially accepted his scholarship. The newest Grayson Viking announced his decision via Twitter, thanking LPG and his longtime summer organization, Frozen Ropes TX.

“It’s another great day for another great kid,” commented LPG CEO Jake Luce. “Jared has continued to progress physically and mentally as a player and person, and we could not be happier for him and his family.”

This is the 14th Luce Prospect to accept a scholarship in 2017.

LPG INKS TALENTED TWO-SPORT ATHLETE TO HIGH-POWERED CLASS OF 2018

THE LUCE PROSPECT GROUP HAS SIGNED LEONARD HIGH SCHOOL’S (TX) STARTING CATCHER, MICHAEL SHULZE.

Michael Shulze, a two-sport athlete (baseball & football), is coming off his most productive varsity seasons to-date. In 2017, Shulze hit .362 and stole 13 bases for Leonard High School (TX). Shulze also showed power and speed at the plate, collecting 6 doubles, 4 triples, and posted an OBP of .467.

“I can’t wait to get rolling,” said Shulze in the days leading up to signing with LPG. “I’m extremely excited to see what I can accomplish with LPG, and I’m proud to be part of The Elite.”

In addition to performing well on the diamond, Shulze showed productivity on the gridiron, as well. The junior wide receiver hauled in 29 passes for Leonard High School for 317 total yards, and averaged 10.9 yards per reception.

“There’s no doubt we’re excited to add Michael to an already talented Class of 2018,” commented CEO Jake Luce. “I knew Michael would be a great fit after the first time I saw him play. His work ethic is off the charts, and he takes care of his business off the field and in the classroom. College coaches love multi-sport athletes. I’m interested to monitor his progress over the next several months.”

When asked what sport he wants to play in college, Shulze did not hesitate. “Baseball,” he said. “Baseball is my first love.”

Shulze joins the LPG Family along with his mother, Cindi Kent.
